DAVID RIVERA BOZÓN
Known as a truly versatile singer with an exceptional, robust, vibrant, and mesmerizing voice, tenor David Rivera Bozón’s captivating presence has charmed audiences internationally.
Based in Boston where he is pursuing graduate studies at New England Conservatory, Colombian tenor David Rivera Bozón has an eclectic international career. His performances include operatic roles as Puccini's Madama Butterfly´s B.F. Pinkerton and Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Tamino in Mozart´s Die Zauberflöte and Le Marie in Poulenc´s Les Mamelles de Tiresias. Solo orchestral performances include Beethoven´s 9th Symphony, Stravinsky´s Les Noces, Einhorn´s Voices of Light. He has also performed chamber works such as Ginastera´s Cantos del Tucumán and Cinco Canciones Populares Argentinas.
Rivera Bozón has been featured in opera, chamber and zarzuela performances internationally as a soloist and ensemble member with renowned companies such as Fundación Jaime Manzur, Coro Filarmónico de Bogotá, Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, Orquesta Sinfónica de Colombia, and Unitas Ensemble.
A current soloist with the Boston Bel Canto Opera, Coro Dante Alighieri, Opera Talk Italy, Opera on Tap, and the Mystic Side Church of Malden, Rivera-Bozón is also frequently featured at the Philharmonia Boston, Calliope, the Rhode Island Encore Opera, the Chelmsford Central Congregational Church, and the Korean Church of Boston.
Rivera Bozón was awarded first prize at both the Rhode Island Civic Chorale & Orchestra (RICCO) Collegiate Vocal Solo Competition in 2018 and the Alliance Française Bogotá Young Talent Music Competition in 2013. He was also a finalist in the 2017 and 2018 New England Regionals Talents of the World, Inc. Annual Voice Competition, and was invited to participate in the New York City Grand Finale in 2018.
David Rivera-Bozón holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory where he is studying with Maestro Bradley Williams, and a Bachelor of Music from the Conservatorio de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia where he studied with Maestra Ángela Simbaqueba.
